Sunday Funday

On Sunday, Elder had to head up to Chinandega for a work-related errand to pick up a laptop he needed to  work on. But I didn't feel like being left home alone for a couple hours while he did this, so I suggested - why don't we turn this errand into a family outing? We can go up to Chinandega together and find something fun to do around there, and then pick up the computer on the way home. So that's what we did, and it was great!

We ended up having a late lunch at a new beach restaurant called El Espigon in the town of Corinto. It was a huge thatched-roof rancho with a festive atmosphere (competing mariachis belting it out at tables of happy drinkers). We had a great seafood meal of fish and shrimp, and even introduced William to his first french fry. He contemplated it with great concentration:

We discovered that there is a small beach right by the restaurant with a nice break of boulders to block off the big waves and current, so kids can play there. Looked like fun, and maybe we'll be back with our kid when he's a bit bigger!
