Storytime

Now that we are in the new house, we are settling in to new routines. And one of those is adding storytime to William's bedtime routine. We have lots of books for him, almost all of them gifts and hand-me-downs from wonderful friends. But in the old house, we didn't have space to keep them handy, so they were packed away in a box.

That "Geckos Surf" book is one of Elder's favorites, which he reads in Spanish as "perrozompopos surfeando"

But now, William has his own room, and we have his box of books easily accessible for storytime. One of these days, we'll actually have some bookshelves made to fully furnish his room. But this works well for now.

Our bedtime routine now consists of bath, putting on PJs, storytime - Spanish book with Daddy (or English book read in Spanish, since we are seriously lacking in Spanish children's books so far) and English book with Mama, lights out, nursing in bed, then lullabies to sleep. Even though William is more interested in chewing on the books than listening to the stories or looking at the pictures, we still enjoy this new element of our bedtime routine which introduces him to the wonderful world of books!
