William's first 5K

Last weekend, we went to Managua to escape the fumigator fumes, do errands, visit friends, and participate in another 5K race! It was a bit of a whirlwind weekend, not always easy with baby. But we had a good time.

We had a lovely visit with Mercedes, an old friend from Save the Children who says she is a great fan of William on Facebook, and loved getting to hold and play with him.

And we also got to see Roberto (also from Save the Children days) who claimed his "sobrino" (nephew) was muy guapo (very handsome). We agree.

On Sunday morning, we got up bright and early for the 5K race, which William got to experience on his Daddy's back. We walked, of course, as I think that ride would be a little too bumpy for William if we ran. (Not to mention that I am not in shape for running yet!). This was William's first 5K and he found it so easy, he did it in his sleep! Lucky boy. Daddy tied the race t-shirt and number to the back of his backpack.

Afterwards we enjoyed a 20% discount at GHOP (George's House of Pancakes) which was strategically along the race route and had their employees out cheering us along with a big sign letting us know of their discount. And then it was on back home to Leon.
