On a beautiful Saturday morning in June, friends and family of Sara and Xavi gathered in the Wildflower Garden of the American Museum of Visionary Art in Baltimore for a sweet and simple ceremony in which the couple reiterated their loving vows to each other.
Sara's grandfather officiated the wedding gracefully, weaving in a sense of humor as he described what he considered his granddaughter's "quirkiness" and the sequence of their weddings in Boston, Barcelona and now Baltimore. He jokingly invited everyone to the next one in the Bay area.

After the ceremony, we were served cava (perfect to represent the couple's Catalán side) and invited to a scrumptious brunch in the Sculpture Barn.
Sara was just beautiful, with a dress and veil which perfectly suited her impeccable sense of style.

And the whole event just seemed perfectly them - sweet, simple and perhaps just a little bit quirky. And a lot home-made.
Sara's mom and aunt made the wedding favors themselves - little jars of homemade orange marmalade and apple butter. Her mother also made the delicious dessert of strawberry shortcake. And another friend provided the lovely mason jar bouquets of wildflowers set at all the tables. I'm not sure who made all the origami paper cranes set around the tables, but that was another nice touch.

Elder and I enjoyed getting to spend some time with my Washington friends at the wedding. Here we are in the Wildflower Garden with Sherry, Andrea, and Jen.

I'm glad you liked my dress. Did you know that it has no zippers or other closures and that it is machine washable? Handy!
